Jin Ho Kwak

Professor Jin Ho Kwak obtained his PhD of Mathematics in Indiana University in 1982. He was a member of Korean Academy of Science and Technology and a professor of Pohang University of Science and Technology. He is engaged in combinatirics, including topological graph theory, enumerative, combinatorics, and combinatorial topology, which makes him a famous expert in topology theory and the leader of combinatiorial methods in Korea. He has 6 monographs and over 100 papers published in SCI. As the former academic dean of Pohang University of Science and Technology, Prof. Kwak established “a combination of mathematics and computing center” in Korea.
Prof. Kwak has a long-term cooperation with Beijing Jiaotong University. He has published 18 research papers in SCI with Prof. FENG Yanquan from School of Science of BJTU and his achievement won the second prize of Ministry of Education Natural Science Award in 2010. Since August 2011, he had been hired as a visiting professor of BJTU with fund of the key project of State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs. In March 2012, he was selected into the first “1000 Talent Plan--Recruitment Program of Foreign Experts”. Since September 2012, he has been working full-time for three years in School of Science of BJTU.
