In recent five years, BJTU filed 2046 patents application (among which 1828 are inventions, representing 89.3% of the total), 1279 patents were granted (among them 1067 are granted inventions, representing 83.4% of the number granted). In addition, 886 computer software copyright registrations have been made. 5 patents are granted by National Defense Patent. 2 registered trademarks have been approved. 2 layout designs of integrated circuits have been approved. The number of national applied and granted patents has increased rapidly in recent years. There are also international granted patents: 4 US granted patents, 2 Australia innovation granted patent. BJTU has successfully made PCT international patent application for first time. BJTU has achieved breakthrough in US patent licensing, Australia intellectual property rights registration, integrated circuit layout designs registration, etc. In 2013, BJTU ranks 44th among Chinese Universities in terms of the number of granted patents.
