On September 8, 2025, President YU Zujun met with Prof. Paulo Montagner, Rector of the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil, and co-chaired the 2025 Council Meeting of the Confucius Institute at UNICAMP.

Both sides acknowledged the productive cooperation since establishing the Confucius Institute in 2015. They emphasized the Institute’s role as a platform for language, cultural, and academic exchanges, and highlighted recent achievements such as the China-Brazil School for Elite Engineers. Discussions covered expanded collaboration in engineering, sports, joint research, and student-faculty exchanges.

The Council reviewed membership changes, operational reports, and passed resolutions on the Institute’s development. The delegation also visited BJTU’s history museum, National Key Laboratory of Advanced Rail Autonomous Operation, wind tunnel lab, and sports facilities, discussing potential partnerships in sports talent cultivation.
