NING Bin Met with Former Chairman of Malaysian Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD)

On January 3, President NING Bin met with Prof. Syed Hamid Bin Syed Jaafar Albar, former Chairman of Malaysian Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) and his wife.

NING Bin welcomed to Prof. Syed Hamid Bin Syed Jaafar Albar and expressed gratitude to him for attending the seminar on “Introduction to Malaysia Transportation Law in the Context of ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative”. He reviewed the contributions Prof. Syed Hamid Bin Syed Jaafar Albar has made to promote the cooperation between BJTU and Malaysian universities, government and enterprises in traffic and transportation since he was appointed the honorary professor of BJTU in September 2016. He pointed out that the cooperation between China and Malaysia in the field of railways has gained momentum in recent years and that the “Belt and Road” Initiative has provided excellent opportunities for the cooperation between BJTU and Malaysian universities and entities. He hoped that Prof. Syed Hamid Bin Syed Jaafar Albar would continue to support the university development and the “Double First-rate” Initiative.  

Prof. Syed Hamid Bin Syed Jaafar Albar appreciated BJTU for the hospitality. He spoke highly of the remarkable contributions of BJTU has made in the professional personal training, the development of rail transit, and the social and economic transformation. He said the rich experience BJTU has gained in serving rail transport and social and economic development provides useful references for Malaysian government, universities and enterprises. In the future, he would continue to boost the exchange and cooperation between BJTU and Malaysian universities and entities in order to enlarge the influence of BJTU in Malaysia.

Vice President GUAN Zhongliang and principals from the School of Traffic and Transportation, School of Law, Office of International Affairs, Center for International Education and Traffic Control Technology Co. Ltd. were present at the meeting.  

During his stay at BJTU, Prof. Syed Hamid Bin Syed Jaafar Albar also gave a lecture on “Introduction to Malaysia Transportation Law under the Context of ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative” for the School of Law and interacted with the teachers and students. He also visited the Traffic Control Technology Co. Ltd. and the Yanfang Subway Line.
