Prof. André Oosterlinck, Honorary Rector of Leuven University, Belgium Visited BJTU



On December 1, 2014, Mr. CAO Guoyong, Chairman of the University Council, met with Prof. André Oosterlinck, Honorary Rector of Leuven University, Belgium.

Mr. CAO Guoyong extended welcome to Prof. André Oosterlinck on behalf of BJTU and introduced the internationalization strategy of the University. He hoped that both sides would, on the basis of solid foundation, further enhance teacher and student exchange, promote the development of Confucius Institute and Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools.

Prof. André Oosterlinck expressed gratitude to BJTU for the invitation and hospitality. He introduced the operation system, funding, scientific research and the transformation of scientific achievements of Leuven University. He said the previous collaboration between Leuven University and BJTU has laid solid foundation for the future all-round cooperation and exchange.

Prof. André Oosterlinck spoke highly of the achievements BJTU has made on rail transit after visiting the State Key Laboratory of Rail Traffic Control and Safety, the Structure Strength Test Laboratory, the Wind Tunnel Laboratory, the Tunnel and Underground Engineering Experiment Research Center, the Vehicle-Bridge Coupling Experiment Platform and BJTU History Museum.

Assistant President XU Yugong and principals from relevant Schools and Offices were also present at the meeting.
