Delegation from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand Visited BJTU



On the afternoon of October 8, 2014, Vice President CHEN Feng met with Prof. Neil Quigley, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Victoria University of Wellington and Prof. Mengjie Zhang from the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science.

CHEN Feng extended welcome to the guests on behalf of President NING Bin. He pointed out Beijing Jiaotong University has made unremitting efforts and achievements in the cultivation of international talents. He hoped that both sides would enhance mutual understandings and conduct cooperation in various forms and aspects through mutual visits.

Prof. Neil Quigley looked forward to conducting cooperation with BJTU. He introduced the strength disciplines (laws, fundamental science, etc.) of Victoria University of Wellington and expected to achieve advantage compensation through cooperation with BJTU. He has been very supportive of the mutual student exchanges and joint education programs. He welcomed BJTU students to apply for the doctoral fellowship program which was jointly established by Victoria University of Wellington and China Scholarship Council. Besides, he agreed to sign the cooperative agreement as soon as possible. 



Afterwards, both sides reached a consensus on the signing of the MoU and the promotion of specific cooperative programs.

Before the meeting, delegates discussed about the details of the signing agreement with principals from the School of Electronic and Information Engineering, School of Computer and Information Technology, School of Science and School of Software Engineering. Then they visited our State Key Laboratory of Rail Traffic Control and Safety.

Principals from the Office of International Affairs and the School of Electronic and Information Engineering were also present at the meeting.
