The 2014 Silk Painting Competition Award Ceremony Held in BJTU

On 11 July, 2014, “the Silk Road to the Future” Silk Painting Competition Award Ceremony was held at the Student Activity Center. Joseph Castro, President of California State University (Fresno), Lynnette Zelezny, Academic Dean of California State University (Fresno), Monroe Gorden, Vice President of UCLA, Julie M. Wong, Vice President of University of South Florida, LI Yi, President of American International Education Foundation, ZHENG E, Deputy Secretary of Beijing Municipal Education Committee and KOU Hongjiang, Deputy Director of the Promotions Dept. of Beijing Municipal Education Committee attended the ceremony. GAO Yan, Vice Chairman of the University Council delivered a speech on behalf of BJTU. Vice President LIU Jun also showed the U.S. delegations around the campus.

This silk painting competition helped promote Chinese traditional culture, increase the mutual understandings between Chinese and American people, and lay solid foundations for the future academic and cultural exchanges between BJTU and American universities. More than ten American and Chinese universities including California State University (Fresno), UCLA, University of South Florida, Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and Central University of Finance and Economics have participated in the cultural event.
