On September 9, 2016, the “2016 Global University Presidents Summit” that hosted by Beijing Jiaotong University and themed by “Help Along the Belt and Road Initiative: Higher Education and Technological Innovation in the Big Date Era” was held in Beijing. Mr. HAO Ping, Vice Minister of China’s Ministry of Education, came to Beijing Jiaotong University for congratulating its 120th anniversary celebration and exchanging views and taking photos with the presented guests and participants. Mr. QU Zhenyan, President of China Association of Higher Education, Mr. XU Tao, Director-General of Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, Ministry of Education P.R. China, Mr. NIE Biao, Director-General of Department of Cultural and Educational Experts, State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs P.R. China, Mr. CAO Guoyong, Chairman of the University Council, Beijing Jiaotong University, attended and addressed the opening ceremony. President NING Bin gave the Keynote Speech.

This summit was divided into two sub-summits, featuring five different sessions of “Higher Education under the Background of“Belt and Road” Initiatives”, “Talents Cultivation and Education Collaboration in the Information Age (IFUP-ICT 2016), “The Role of Universities on Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship”, “Technological Transfer of  Coordinated Innovation Among Universities, Industries and Local Governments” and “China-Russia Transport Research and Education Sustainable Development and Cooperation”.  Guests from about 50 universities in U.S., U.K., France and Russia and from embassies in China attended the summit and conducted in-depth discussions upon the above sessions.
