YAN Xuedong

Prof. YAN Xuedong was born in Cangzhou city, Hebei Province in February 1975. He joined the Communist Party of China in June 1996 and started his academic career in December 2009. In July 1994, he received his Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning from Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology. In May 2003, he received his Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from University of Central Florida. In May 2005, he graduated from University of Central Florida with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Direction of Transportation Engineering). He worked as Research Director for Transport Safety at the Transportation Research Center of the University of Tennessee, U.S. Since 2009. Prof. YAN Xuedong served successively as Vice Dean of School of Traffic and Transportation, Dean of the School of Languages and Communication Studies, Director of the Office of International Affairs (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan affairs) of Beijing Jiaotong University. Prof. YAN Xuedong is currently a member of BJTU’s 11th Party Committee and Standing Committee, he also serves as Vice President of Beijing Jiaotong University.
