Vice President of Mahasarakham University, Thailand visits BJTU

On March 25, Vice President GAO Liang met with the delegation of Mahasarakham University, Thailand, headed by their Vice President Juntip Kanianasilp.

 

Gao Liang received Ms. Juntip Kanianasilp and her delegation with a warm welcome. He gave a succinct overview of the university's historic background, discipline construction progress, international student development, and contributions to the country's rail transit sector. He emphasized how the university and Thai institutions had developed a close partnership in recent years. In light of the 50th anniversary of China-Thailand diplomatic ties, aptly referred to as the "Golden 50 Years of China-Thailand Friendship", he made the point that both nations should endeavor to promote constructive cooperation in the fields of faculty and student mobility programs, cooperative research, technical training, and talent development in the railway sector in order to spur Thailand's economic growth and transportation development.

 

Ms. Juntip Kanianasilp gave a brief overview of Mahasarakham University's current state and thanked everyone for the cordial welcome. Mahasarakham University has been an active contributor to China's Belt and Road Initiative in recent years, promoting educational collaboration in railway infrastructure between China and Thailand. In order to encourage the development of local railway talent and the integration of China-Thailand railway networks, she stated her desire to strengthen cooperation with BJTU in areas such as smart transportation technology development, student dual-degree programs, and joint research.

 

Representatives from the Office of International Affairs, the School of Traffic and Transportation, the School of Civil Engineering, the School of Mechanical, Electronic and Control Engineering, and the College of International Education also attended the event.

The delegation also visited the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Rail Autonomous Operation and the Mechanical Engineering Experimental Teaching & Engineering Training Center.


Founded in 1968, Mahasarakham institution (MSU) is a long-standing, comprehensive public institution in Thailand. The university, which has 18 faculties and two campuses in the northeastern Thai province of MahaSarakham, offers more than 180 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degree programs. At the moment, it boasts approximately 40,000 students and 3,000 academics and staff. International Business and Management, Computer Sciences, Engineering, and Hospitality Management are some of MSU's strongest academic fields.
