On the morning of July 10, 2025, Vice President GAO Liang met with Dr. Jabbar Ali Zakeri, Deputy Minister for Roads and Urban Development and President of Iranian Railways, who is also a BJTU alumnus.

GAO Liang warmly welcomed Dr. Zakeri and highlighted the university’s recent achievements in talent cultivation, discipline development, international cooperation, and multi-campus expansion. He emphasized the deep friendship between China and Iran and expressed hope for deeper collaboration in training transportation professionals and expanding rail transit cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Dr. Zakeri expressed gratitude for the warm reception and praised BJTU’s contributions to Belt and Road projects. He proposed strengthening cooperation to support the China-Europe Railway Express, enhance Iran’s railway electrification, and jointly train more railway professionals.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the College of International Education, Office of International Affairs, and School of Civil Engineering.
