On the afternoon of June 10, 2015, invited by both H.E. Jorge Torres-Pereira, Portuguese Ambassador to China and his wife, President NING Bin attended the National Day reception held by Portuguese Embassy in China.

During the reception, H.E. Jorge Torres-Pereira held cordial talks with NING Bin. He spoke highly of the fruitful cooperation between China and Portugal and Brazil on education and scientific research. He said he would continue to attach the great importance to the exchange and cooperation between BJTU and the universities of Portuguese-speaking countries. Besides, NING Bin invited him to visit BJTU at his convenience.

During the reception, NING Bin also exchanged views with Mr. ZHU Qin, Deputy Director General of Department of European Affairs, China’s Foreign Ministry, Ms. TANG Wensheng, Vice-Chairperson of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, H.E. Valdemar Carneiro Leão, Brazilian Ambassador to China and his wife on the school-running characteristics of BJTU and international cooperative projects serving the national “going global’ initiative of railway.

Ms. WANG Chengxu from the School of Languages and Communication Studies was also present at the reception.
