On the morning of March 25, 2015, Vice President CHEN Feng met with the delegation led by Prof. Pierre Lafleur, Vice President of Polytechnique Montreal, Canada.
First, CHEN Feng extended welcome to the guests on behalf of BJTU and introduced the history, discipline setting, teaching, scientific research, international cooperation as well as the marked contributions BJTU has made to the development of China’s high-speed railway, technological innovation and talents cultivation of the University. He pointed out that the University has expanded cooperation relations with world renowned universities and enterprises and cultivated a wide range of skilled talents so as to implement China’s initiatives of “One Belt, One Road” and “Going Global”. He hoped that both sides would further promote student and faculty exchange.
Then, Prof. Pierre Lafleur expressed gratitude to BJTU for the hospitality and introduced the basic facts of Polytechnique Montreal. He said both parties share many similarities in the cooperation between higher education and industries as well as the willingness to encourage students studying aboard. He expected to lay the foundations for the future joint education programs and research through this visit.
Principals from the Graduate School, Office of International Affairs, Center for International Education and School of Science were also present at the meeting.
