Vice President of the University of Transport Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam visits BJTU

On the afternoon of July 18th, 2024, Vice President ZHAO Peng met with NGUYEN Anh Tuan, Vice President of the University of Transport Ho Chi Minh City, and LI Xiaozheng, General Manager of the CRRC Intelligent Transportation Operation Management Co., Ltd.

ZHAO Peng heartily welcomed NGUYEN Anh Tuan's visit and provided a brief outline of BJTU's history, talent development, strength disciplines, international involvement, and contributions to national transportation improvement. He indicated his desire for both sides to interact through intergovernmental alliances on issues such as faculty and student mobility, talent development, cooperative research, and technical training.

NGUYEN Anh Tuan praised BJTU for their kind welcome and presented information on the university's faculty and student population, discipline structure, railway specialized faculty training, and the current state of Vietnam's transportation construction. He thinks that bilateral collaboration can be formed for talent development and railway-related technical training, thereby advancing the Vietnamese rail transit sector.

LI Xiaozheng provided a brief introduction to the CRRC Intelligent Transportation Operation Management Co., Ltd. and stated his desire for tripartite partnership to drive future innovation.

The delegation also visited the University Museum after the meeting.

Representatives from the School of Traffic and Transportation, the Tangshan Research Institute, and the Office of International Affairs also attended the meeting.

The University of Transport Ho Chi Minh City (UT-HCMC), established in 1988, is a state university in Vietnam that specializes in transportation. It is overseen by the Ministry of Transport. The university contains over ten faculties and departments, including Transportation Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering. It operates five campuses. With 36,000 students, it is closely tied to Vietnam's railway and transportation industries, and it is committed to the development of Vietnam's urban rail transit and North-South high-speed railway.
