March 15th, 2024, Vice President GUAN Zhongliang met with the visiting delegation led by Professor RUSLLIM BIN MOHAME and Professor KAMAL BIN YUSOH, Vice Presidents of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP).
GUAN Zhongliang extended a warm welcome to the UMP delegation. He delivered a brief introduction of BJTU’s historical development, strength disciplines, talent cultivation, international engagement and contributions to the national rail transportation sector. He highlighted the frequent exchanges between the two universities in recent years and the impressive achievements in joint education and international training programs. He expressed his willingness for both sides to further explore potential collaborative projects in personnel exchanges to contribute to the implementation of the "Belt and Road" initiative and the development of Malaysia's railway infrastructure.
Professor RUSLLIM BIN MOHAME expressed his gratitude for the warm reception as well as his appreciation for the collaborative achievements in talent cultivation and joint research. He pointed out that the current double-degree program participated by 70 students is running smoothly. He expects that the two universities could continue to expand cooperation in academic exchanges, vocational and technical training, students and faculty mobility, as well as other related fields.
Representatives in charge of the student cultivation from various schools presented information regarding the students’ life on campus, academic results and internship arrangements. They offered input on potential collaboration in faculty and student exchanges.
After the meeting, Vice President MOHD RUSLLIM BIN MOHAMED and his delegation met with the students of the dual-degree program, encouraging them to stay diligent, take initiative in their daily studies so as learn from China’s experience and resume their responsibilities in the future construction and operation of Malaysian railway.
Officials from Office of International Affairs, College of International Education, School of Civil Engineering, School of Mechanical, Electronic and Control Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering also attended the meetings.
