March 11th, 2024, President YU Zujun met with the visiting delegation led by Antonio José de Almeida Meirelles, President of the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP).
YU Zujun extended a warm welcome to President Antonio José de Almeida Meirelles and his delegation. He made a brief introduction of BJTU’s historical development, discipline setting, international engagement and participation in major national rail transit projects. He praised the fruitful results generated through cooperation between UNICAMP and BJTU since the establishment of the Confucius Institute ten years ago. On the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil, he hopes that the two universities could further explore potential projects in talent cultivation, research and cultural exchanges, setting a stellar example for higher education collaboration between the two countries.
President Antonio José de Almeida Meirelles expressed his gratitude for the warm reception. He reviewed the history and the achievements between the two universities and expressed his willingness to deepen bilateral exchanges to cultivate more outstanding talents in compatible fields of studies.
Prior to the meeting, the delegation visited the History Museum of BJTU as well as the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Rail Autonomous Operation.
Officials from School of Economics and Management, School of Civil Engineering, School of Physical Science and Engineering, School of Languages and Communication Studies, School of Architecture and Design, College of International Education and Office of International Affairs attended the meeting.
