From May 8 to14, 2014, Mr. CAO Guoyong, Chairman of University Council of BJTU, led a delegation to visit universities of Sweden, Holland and France, such as Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), University of Gothenburg, Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), Erasmus University, and EPITECH. The delegation also met with Education Counselor of Embassy of China in Holland and the Ministerial Counselor of Embassy of China in France. This visit aims at intensifying cooperation and exchange between BJTU and partner universities in terms of research and talents cultivation, and enhancing BJTU’s prestige and influence in Europe.

On 8 May, Ramon Wyss, Vice President of KTH, met with the delegation and held a cordial discussion. Chairman CAO Guoyong briefly introduced BJTU in term of disciplinary strength, technological innovation, service provided for railway industry in China, as well as the development of internationalization. He expected to expand cooperation with different areas and in more profound levels. During the meeting, Chairman CAO Guoyong signed the student exchange agreement with KTH.

On 9 May, the delegation met with Helena Lindholm Schulz, Executive Vice President of University of Gothenburg. Chairman CAO Guoyong briefed the scientific research and talents cultivation of BJTU, and expected further exchange and collaboration between the two universities. Chairman CAO Guoyong and Helena Schulz sighed the strategic cooperation agreement after the meeting.

The delegation and the exchange students from BJTU in TU Delft
On the morning of 12 May, the delegation visited TU Delft and met with Dirk Jan van den Berg, President of TU Delft. President Dirk Jan van den Berg spoke highly of the exchange students from BJTU through the CSC scholarship program. He highlighted the cooperation with BJTU in research and talents cultivation. Chairman CAO Guoyong looked forward to further cooperation in the following aspects: to jointly establish a railway research center; to strengthen cooperation on graduates programs and enlarge the number of exchange students; to discuss issues on cooperatively–running school undergraduate program. Chairman CAO Guoyong signed cooperation agreement with TU Delft on behalf of BJTU. After the meeting, the delegation met the exchange students from BJTU.
BJTU Delegation visited EUR
On the afternoon of 12 May, the delegation visited Erasmus University (EUR). Huibert A.P. Pols, President of EUR met with the delegation. Chairman CAO Guoyong expected further cooperation between two universities in research and talents cultivation. BJTU would recommend excellent students to join in the exchange program.

School of Software Engineering of BJTU has had a long-term educational cooperation with EPITECH (one of technological schools of, France) and received hundreds of French students. On 14 May, the delegation visited EPITECH. CAO Guoyong and Fabrice Bardeche, Vice President of IONIS Group inaugurated “China-French Master's Degree Program in Software Engineering”.
