On the morning of January 23rd, 2014, MOU Signing Ceremony among Beijing Jiaotong University, Rochester Institute of Technology(RIT) and Weihai Municipal Government was held on campus. NING Bin, President of BJTU, Jeremy Haefner, Provost of Rochester Institute of Technology and FU Guangzhao, Deputy Mayor of Weihai People’s Municipal Government jointly signed MOU among three Parties and gave speeches on behalf of the Parties, respectively. Vice President SUN Shouguang hosted the ceremony.

 

President NING indicated this MOU signing would promote the construction as world-class university with distinctive features for BJTU and carry out the internationalization strategy. He emphasized BJTU would further cooperation with RIT and Weihai Municipal Government, to establish a high-level Chinese-Foreign Cooperatively-run School with prominent features.

Jeremy Haefner said RIT cherished the cooperation and would bring in advantages and experience of international collaboration to contribute to the establishment of Weihai campus.

FU Guangzhao mentioned the cooperatively-run school would promote scientific and technological innovation and cultural connotation for Weihai and create new opportunities for international cooperation and exchange in education and culture.
