Electronic Science and Technology

I. Length of Schooling
Standard: four years on a full time basis Completion Time limits: three to six years

II. Degree
Bachelor of Engineering (B. E.)

III. Program Objectives
The program aims to cultivate highly specialized professionals in design, development and management in the area of Electronic Science and Technology and other interdisciplinary fields, who, with a solid foundation of knowledge and good sense of innovation, are qualified to meet various job requirements.. Priority is given to the development of the students’ personalities and characters so as to ensure a balanced and all-around development of their morality, intelligence and physique. Apart from students’ mastery of the theoretical knowledge of mathematics, physics, signal and information processing, microelectronics technology, and integrated circuits design, great stress is placed upon the training of the students’ abilities to conduct scientific research to get them well-prepared for their future development in research and jobs in the fields of electronics, information communications and some other related areas. To be specific, Microelectronics and Solid State Electronics focuses on fostering the students’ capabilities for semi-conductor devices and IC designs. Circuits and Systems is to equip students with both a good knowledge in Circuits and Systems and Signal and Image Processing, and capabilities of designing information processing systems and of developing and applying DSP, EDA technologies and embedded systems. Electromagnetic Field and Microwave Technology concentrates on developing professionals capable of designing and testing electronic and communications systems by applying the knowledge of electromagnetic fields and magnetic waves, microwave and antenna technology and electromagnetic compatibility.
Besides the above mentioned, all EST undergraduates shall be educated
1. to have a healthy mentality, develop a proper philosophy of life, personal values, a deep awareness of our ethical responsibilities to our profession and to society and learn to be cooperative, responsible and devotional to work.
2. to gain higher level of humanities literacy, and are able to communicate, express and write effectively.
