10L122Q Software-Defined Radio

(2 Credits, 32 Hours; Course Category: Specialized Elective Course; Specialty: Communication Engineering, Electronics Science and Technology; Prerequisite: Signals and Systems)
This course mainly focuses on the fundamental concepts, principles, systems design, and broad applications of software (cognitive) radio technologies.
This course is organized into six parts: 1) the history and development trend of software (cognitive) radio; 2) the key features, system architecture, and major modules of software (cognitive) radio; 3) smart antenna technologies; 4) sampling theory; 5) multi-rate signal processing; 6) software (cognitive) radio systems design and future development.
After successfully completing this course, the students are expected to be able to design software (cognitive) radio systems for various applications such as mobile communications, public safety, transportation and so on.
