20L416Q Hydraulic and Pneumatic Technology

(2 Credits, 32 Hours; Course Category: Specialty Elective Course; Specialty: Mechanical Engineering / Measurement and Control Technology & Instruments/international class of Mechanical Engineering & Automation; Prerequisite: Mechanisms, Control Theory)
In industry, automatic production lines, industrial robots, automatic production tools based on hydraulic and pneumatic technology have been developed widely and fast in recent years. Hydraulic and pneumatic technology is an essential link between electronic control and industrial automation. This course covers the principles and characteristics of pneumatic components(pumps, motors, control valves, etc.) as well as making circuits and systems out of them in classroom and laboratory. After this course students are expected to be able to design hydraulic and pneumatic systems, choose appropriate hydraulic and pneumatic components, analyze and evaluate the existing system, creatively solve related engineering problems.
